Screeching to a halt…for a weddin’!January 24, 2011

My dear friend and invitation designer K. Chung emailed me this article and it was definitely blog-worthy. I’m currently in Fla having had the best weekend ever at a friend’s wedding! I sometimes forget besides the mosquitoes, slow-paced lifestyle, and large retirement population South Florida can still think outside of the box. Especially for new Mrs. Nina Johnson.

When choosing a location for her wedding ceremony and reception she set her eyes on a parking garage. HA-HA…That’s what her guests thought of when she mentioned it to them AND included a sketch of the parking garage on her invitations. But boy were they awe-struck when they arrived and saw that the loft-like structure lit up in all it’s beautiful architectural glory complete with a 360-degree view of South Florida!

No exterior walls!

I applaud this bride for being so creative. She didn’t stick to what could have been safe. Remember, any space can be transformed with some work.

Real Weddings- Taylor & Stephen (Photos by Abby Jiu)December 5, 2010

One of my favorite photographers and friend, Abby posted photos from a recent wedding she shot in Jacksonville, Florida of Taylor and Stephen (now Horne). Abby just knows when to capture the most important moments.

I’m not surprised at how beautifully Taylor’s wedding was executed. I met Taylor in college and that girl has flair! I just love everything about the photos. Made me feel like I was there! Plus, check out that Oscar de la Renta gown…to die for!

Um, hello! That gown is seriously stunning!

I love this little detail idea!

Abby, this, this is my favorite photo!

Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Horne! May life bring you many laughs and joy!

You can check out more of the photos from the wedding here, on Abby’s blog!

Tram & GregoryNovember 3, 2010

I met Tram and Gregory last November and immediately fell for them. They were a sweet and genuine couple. They wanted an ethereal and sweet wedding with a bit of a modern twist. Tram planned most of her wedding while still attending pharmacy school in Pennsylvania. We kept in touch via email for a year and would hold follow-up meetings when she was in town. I just enjoyed meeting with the two of them. They’re wedding day was a dream. From the custom-made trellus with chandelier to the 8-course Chinese dinner. This was a unique wedding day that kept guests dancing until midnight!
Check out some of the photos from Caroline Tran Photography.

Tram’s look was to die for! She looked so glamorous!
